6. LUCIANO PAVAROTTI
A Big Man with a big voice. Pavarotti was born on the 12th October 1935. He was an Italian operatic tenor, who also crossed over into popular music, eventually becoming one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time. He was one of "The Three Tenors" and became well-known for his televised concerts and media appearances. Pavarotti was also noted for his charity work on behalf of refugees and the Red Cross, amongst others.His final performance in an opera was at the Metropolitan in March 2004. The 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, saw him on stage for the last time, where Pavarotti performed Nessun dorma, with the crowd serving as the aria's chorus, and he received a thunderous standing ovation. On Thursday 6 September 2007, he died at home in Modena from pancreatic cancer, aged 71.
7. CARLOS SANTANA
Carlos Augusto Alves Santana was born on the 20th of July 1947. He is a Mexican-born American Grammy Award-winning rock musician and guitarist. Santana became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered a blend of rock, salsa and jazz fusion. The band's sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin percussion such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades. He experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone also named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003. His work such as "Black Magic Women" "Corazon Espinado" "Smooth" just to named a few, has amazing guitar works that are unique in his own way.
8. ALLAHYARHAM TAN SRI DATUK AMAR DR. P.RAMLEE
Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh or famously known as P.Ramlee is the pioneer of Malaysian and Singapore movie industry. HE is also a great singer and songwriter, writing so many songs that still listened till today. Among the movies that are old time classic are "..Bujang Lapuk..." "Anakku Sazali" "Sarjan Hassan" and lot more. His songs "Getaran Jiwa" "Jeritan Batinku" has been the hummed of Malaysian and Singaporean till this day. P.Ramlee died on 29th May 1973due to Heart Failure but the legacy still continue...
9. LOUDNESS
Loudness (ラウドネス Raudonesu) is a Japanese heavy metal band formed in 1981 by guitarist Akira Takasaki and drummer Munetaka Higuchi.They were the first Japanese heavy metal act signed in the United States, releasing seven albums (three in America) by the end of 1987 and reaching the Billboard Top 100. This band is one of the best bands in Asia, being the big guns in Asia for such a long time, Loudness continues to influence and inspire young musician in Asia to be like them. With some of the hit songs such as "The Battleship Musashi""Crazy Samurai""Road Racer" and "Let It Go", this is the band Asian musician look up to in term of achievements.
10. KING OF POP, MICHAEL JACKSON
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on 29th August 1958. Started his career since he was a child with his brothers, Jackson 5 cruise to become very popular and recognizable, although they are still kids at the time. MJ is the most electrifying entertainer there is in our lifetime. His songs "I'll be there" "Earth Songs" "Dangerous" and the world renowned choreography songs "Thriller" was among the great songs that he had sang. He died this year 2009, leaving behind his legacy of perfect entertainment.
